Inspection and Assessment
The process will begin with an interior and exterior inspection to assess how much damage there is. During this time, we will start taking photos for documentation purposes. After that, we will discuss the next steps which will include determining if the property is habitable or not, what can stay, what needs to go, what can be cleaned, what can't be cleaned, etc..
Your insurance policy requires YOU to prove your damages to your carrier when you file an insurance claim therefore, documentation is extremely critical and necessary for a successful claim process.
Boardup
If there are any openings in the structure- Broken doors, windows, roof holes, etc-- they will need to be sealed to prevent further damage. This damage can come from the elements of the weather, animals or people. These opening also need to be sealed to prevent people from entering and potentially getting hurt, resulting in a potential lawsuit for you. This is a requirement of your insurance policy as well.
Emergency Water extraction/ Drying/ Building material removal.
The Water extraction step removes most of the standing water from your property. By performing this step, drying time will be reduced & secondary damage can be avoided. We use powerful pumps & mats to quickly remove gallons of water.
Drying/ Dehumidification
After the water is removed, your floors and walls may look dry at first glance but they are still wet to touch. Most building material like drywall & wood are porous and will retain significant water. The retained water will cause this building material to swell, warp, or breakdown and can also cause mold damage, wet rot, etc.. We will manipulate temperature and relative humidity to remove remaining moisture. We will carefully monitor the progress by using moisture meters, hygrometers, etc until the materials return to acceptable drying goals.
Sometimes certain building materials and/or certain situations are not a candidate for drying so they will be documented and removed.
Cleaning/ Deodorization
Sometimes with a minor fire or a fire that severely affects certain rooms but not others, some of the damage will respond to a deep cleaning of the room and its contents. In a situation like that, we would come in and deep clean those rooms with special products and use machines that will help sanitize/deodorize the air. All floors, walls, ceilings, windows, light fixtures, doors, etc will be cleaned and refreshed.
Packout services/ Content cleaning/ deodorization, Storage
If your home requires extensive restoration to a room or multiple rooms, a pack out may be required. Usually in a room that requires demolition and repairs, it will need to be emptied. We will come in, pack and/or wrap all of your belongings from that room, bring it to our facility where it may be cleaned, deodorized and stored until repairs are completed.
